Karen Sherman

Karen Sherman has been on the Board of Managers for West Virginia PTA for the past 11 years. She has also held the position of 2nd Vice President of Membership and Secretary and serves on the Scholarship Committee. She is a Member of the Berkeley County Council PTA.

Karen started her involvement in the PTA at Bunker Hill Elementary School to help organize events and have her voice heard at PTA meetings. What she found was, “I am lucky enough to be a part of a greater group of parents all wanting the best for not just their own children but every child. There is no greater sound than the laughter of a child.” She continued her involvement at Mill Creek Intermediate PTA and Musselman Middle School PTSA where she held all positions over the course of her children’s enrollment.  Karen has received the West Virginia PTA Life Membership Award and the National PTA Life Achievement Award.

Karen has been married for 31+years to her husband Andy and has two children, Jenna (22) and Jake (21). She has been the Office Manager at Jackson-Williams Appraisers, Inc for the past 21 years.
